Local tourists

I really like being a tourist in my own city. It’s so big and beatiful and green.

This past weekend we went up to Whistler for the afternoon to go Ziptrekking for Ryan’s friend, Nelson’s birthday.

The next day we went for a luncheon boat cruise on Harbour Cruises along Burrard Inlet all the way up Salmon Arm with my dad, nephew and Ryan’s dad and stepmom.

We went with Harbour Cruises and had a great time. I thought it was way better than a dinner cruise because you could see everything as opposed to just city lights. More photos of our boat cruise here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/63196607@N06/

The natural scenery and expanseness of it all just puts me in awe at how great our backyard is.

It sort of hu
mbles you to think of how tiny you are in the make of all things when you’re looking at thousand year old glaciers and forests.

It also saddens me a bit thinking of how many mountains there are in BC that I’ll likely never have a chance to climb and explore. I made it a point to spend more time outdoors hiking and wandering through the mountains this year and will be upping it all fall, winter and spring.

My nephew Darien got a chance to sit in the captains chair on the boat cruise.
